Restorations and Repairs
Historical Water Pump Restoration
This historical water pump was originally manufactured in London, Ontario and was placed in the Moore Union Cemetery in the late 1880’s. The cast iron housing was rusted and deeply pitted, the handle was sloppy and the pipe had sheared in two from over a century of use. The pipe was welded and reinforced, the hardware was replaced with new bushings and the entire pump was sandblasted before receiving two coats of epoxy primer and two coats of a UV resistant urethane topcoat.
Sea Wall Repair
The sea wall on this waterfront home was only a few years old, but the top cap was only welded on one side, so the waves and ice made quick work of ripping it off.
The portion of the original top cap that could be found was fished out of Lake Huron. New tabs were welded on both sides and it was reinstalled. A matching new steel top cap was fabricated for the end to match and welded in place.
Sailboat Mast Repair
The mounting pin slot on this aluminum mast off a 17’ flying Scot sailboat had torn away after decades of use. The damaged sections were carefully removed and replaced with 1/4” angle aluminum which is much stronger than the original design and will last for many more years of sailing.
